Beginning Monday, May 1, city and utility offices and the public library will be moved to temporary locations for 6-8 months while the existing building is undergoing renovations and an addition. There will be no changes to the hours for city and utility offices during the move. The library will be closed Monday, April 24 through Sunday, April 30
and will reopen on May 1 with new hours. More details on the impacts of the project are provided below.
CITY & UTILITY OFFICES
City and utility offices will be relocated to 106 E. Blue Earth St. with no changes to business hours. Services such as utility billing, building permits, cat and dog licenses, employment, code enforcement, human resources, administration, etc. will all continue to be provided at the temporary location.
The library will be relocated to 980 S. Main St. (Cornerstone United Methodist Church). The library will be closed Monday, April 24 through Sunday, April 30 and will reopen onMonday, May 1 with the following hours:
Monday, 1 PM to 6 PM
Tuesday, 1 PM to 5:30 PM
Wednesday, 10 AM to 6 PM
Thursday, 1 PM to 5:30 PM
Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM
Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM
Patrons can enter through the Northeast doors and use the Northeast parking lot.
COUNCIL, COMMISSION & COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Council, commission and committee meetings will also undergo changes. Beginning May 1, meetings will either be held in the Community Room of the Emergency Services Building located at 181 S. Hunt St. or the Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center located at 621 W. Nathan St. Please be sure to check the meeting agenda for the official meeting location. Meeting agendas and other public notices will be posted at 106 E. Blue Earth St. and on the City’s website - http://www.ci.lake-crystal.mn.us/
During construction, areas around city hall will be fenced and unavailable for public use. This includes the gazebo. Some temporary street closures around Marston Park may be necessary.
Additional information and updates on the construction project will be posted to the City’s website and facebook page on a regular basis.
