Congratulations to our bowlers advancing to the STATE competition next Friday, May 9!
Individual competitors Gerrad, Bridget, and Payton will represent us alongside top bowlers from across the state. In the team event, Jacob, Phynix, John, and Bridget will compete together.
Way to go, and best of luck at State!

Our AcaDec team is competing nationally in Des Moines, IA this week! They took a few moments to pose in front of the Des Moines River just outside their hotel yesterday after they arrived, then posed again this morning at the opening ceremony. Competition began this afternoon with the speech portion and continues tomorrow with the "Super Quiz."

Good luck to our bowlers today who are competing at regionals!!

The district has been closely monitoring the weather and Superintendent Benson attended a webinar earlier today regarding the severe weather that's expected for later today. It appears that we could experience some challenging weather between the 4-7pm time frame. We are aware that other districts are opting for early dismissals. At this point, we will remain in school, but there will be no after-school activities today.
The bus companies and our staff will prioritize getting everyone home safely once the school day ends.

These six students are participating at STATE SPEECH today! They are currently waiting for finals and will know placements later this evening. We will update you as soon as we know more!!

While the juniors were testing this morning, the 9th graders visited the SPAM Museum and the Hormel Nature Center.

Five students from LCWM attended the MSHSL Visual Arts competition in Montgomery on April 9th. Aubrie won Superior in Drawing and Painting, Lexi won Superior in Painting and Ceramics, Lucas won excellent in Film-based Photography, Ronan won Superior in ceramics and was also awarded a Judge's Choice Spotlight on the Arts. Adam won an Excellent in Drawing. Congratulations to these five artists!

Throughout the month of March, students worked hard to earn "pride points" by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and safety in their actions. The classes that earned the most pride points were rewarded with popcorn, with 6th grade and 11th grade taking the top spots! Mr. Thofson popped the popcorn, and to celebrate, a movie was played at lunch all week. Students had a great time enjoying the show and the tasty treat. It was a fun way to encourage positive behavior and reward hard work!

A message from our High School Student Council:
Parents!!! Has it been a while since you've had some time away from your kids? Need to go grocery shopping but can't find childcare for a night? Been some time since you've gone on a date?
Support the LCWM High School student council by utilizing our Childcare Fundraiser! Saturday, April 26, the LCWM student council will be providing childcare from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The minimum age requirement is 2 years old. Families do NOT need to go to LCWM to attend, so maybe reach out to some friends for a child-free dinner! We have plenty of fun activities planned to keep your kids busy and entertained while you get some time to yourselves!
Click the following to sign up and for even more information, like contacts, an overview of the schedule, and pricing! Spots are limited, so don't wait to get signed up.

🌟 March Students of the Month 🌟
We are excited to recognize our outstanding students who have exemplified this month's theme of Respect for Community. These students have gone above and beyond in showing kindness, support, and responsibility to those around them—whether it's their peers, teachers, or the greater community. March's Students of the Month are: Natalie, Cora, Harper, Alice, Maya, Samuel, and Mason (not pictured).
Your positive actions inspire all of us to create a more respectful and caring environment. Keep shining, students, and thank you for making a difference! 🌍💙

If you're interested in coaching golf this spring, contact Mr. Burns today!! LCWM is still looking for an Assistant Coach!

Our LCWM students recently had an exciting opportunity to visit several local places of employment, gaining valuable insights into various industries. After completing the "Hair Style Curriculum" provided by Educational Associates, Mrs. Theis' class visited Moxie Suites, Indulge, Ulta, Dasch Salon, and the Nova Academy School. These visits allowed students to learn about the history of these businesses, see how they operate, and experience hands-on activities. The students also had the chance to hear inspiring stories from professionals in the field. The curriculum and tours were coordinated by Kelsey Hutchinson at MVED. Additionally, Charlie, from Mr. Ouren's class, is gaining work experience through the Work-Based Learning program at Kevin’s Market, where he works a couple of days a week. A big thank you to all the businesses that supported our students and provided them with these valuable learning experiences!

The third and final student council / school board breakfast was this morning. There was great dialogue between our students and board members!

Yesterday, Mr. Bosma had students become renaissance characters - reformers - leaders - artists - writers - and then they had a speed mixer to meet and greet each other! Some student even dressed up as their character!
